Do you want to get outdoors to paint or sketch?
Do you wish you had a group of friends who could paint together, organize plein air painting opportunities, and share the experience of making art outdoors in Southern Utah?
We do, and we want to invite others to participate, to propose dates and locations, and to join us to make art.
There are wonderful resources in Utah for painting on public lands. For painting on some public lands there may be no more organization required than times, dates and locations when we can get together. The BLM and Forest Service require no permits for non-commercial day use. Of course there's the Park Service, too. We'll have to see if any painters have park passes.
We will also strive to provide access to restricted and private property by establishing trust with the owner or agent. On private land, all participating artists will need to respect both the privacy and property of owners. Entry to private land for paint-outs will be granted only for specific times and dates. If you know of a private property you would like to paint, please contact Kathy Cieslewicz (cieslewicz@dixie.edu), or Valerie Orlemann (avorlemann@scinternet.net) with information.
No instruction will be given, and every artist is responsible to arrange car pools or arrive at the destination and return. Paint-out times and dates will be posted here. You may sign up for notification when this blog is updated.

I would jump at the chance to plein -aire. I love being outside. Watercolor is my medium right now.
My husband is not well and I have to consider him in all I do. So I would not want to go too far away. I live in LaVerkin.
If anyone writes to me please put: "pleinaire" in the subject or I may delete you.
